Today, June 5, CEO of Kazatomprom Vladimir Shkolnik took part in a meeting
regarding implementation of investment projects of Samruk-Kazyna Group of
companies chaired by O. Shokeev.
As the head of the national atomic company said, from 2010 to 2013 NAC
Kazatomprom launched projects worth a total of USD896.3 mln.
The largest investment project of the group is acquisition by the joint
Kazakh-Russian enterprise "Uranium enrichment plant" of 25% +1 share of
open joint-stock company "Ural electrochemical combine". This deal completed in
2013 became an important stage in implementation of Kazatomprom's strategic
goals on business diversification by way of participating in a more complex
processing of nuclear fuel. Already in 2013 the first income was received from
delivery of enriched uranium to consumers. The commercial revenue is comparable
with turnovers of joint Kazakh-Russian uranium-extracting enterprises.
