Rating agency Expert RA Kazakhstan summarizes IV annual reports yearly contest

/Rating agency Expert RA Kazakhstan LLP, December 15, 14/ – On December 12, 2014 Rating agency Expert RA Kazakhstan LLP within the framework of II Practical conference "Annual reports: leaders' experience and new standards" held an awards ceremony based on IV Competition of annual reports. The Competition's main purpose is to promote effective disclosure of information of companies to investors and clients. In order to participate a Kazakhstan company had to provide a soft and hard copy of its Y2013 annual report in Russian, Kazakh and English languages. In the category Best Annual Report the reports of 38 local companies submitted to the contest were evaluated according to the procedure of the Agency. Based on the results of the analysis a short-list was compiled which consisted of three reports and was put to vote of the expert jury panel represented by professionals in the field of corporate governance and financial reporting preparation. The expert jury panel had to decide the winners of the Competition. In the categories "Design and Printing" and "Interactive version of the annual report" the winner was chosen exclusively by members of an independent jury panel consisting of the design experts. Also additional awards were given by the Rating agency Expert RA Kazakhstan LLP for achievements that they felt were worth noting. "The participants try to learn from successful ideas, and it helps to improve the quality of annual reports sent in for the competition. The winners of the competition represent the best practice to date in preparation of annual reports in Kazakhstan. Thus, the list of leaders changes every year, and given that all the participants still have substantial room for further improvements, the companies demonstrating qualitative progress in annual accounts preparation have all chances to oust competitors in the next year," – according to Vasily Kalabin, the project scientific coordinator.
