Visa and Kazkommertsbank launched the very first contactless payment service
in Kazakhstan using Android-based smartphones with NFC chip.
The project is based on Host Card Emulation (HCE) technology, which makes it
possible to create a digital copy of a payment card (or several cards) and to
use NFC smartphone antenna for contactless payments using a special mobile
application. Due to this, cardholders are able to quickly, easily and securely
pay for purchases with their smartphones, and the banks are able to store
information about customer payments in a secure cloud storage.
