/KASE, January 11, 12/ - JSC "BTA Bank" (Almaty), whose bonds are officially listed at Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), has provided KASE with the following communique of January 11, 2012:

Today BTA Bank JSC (hereinafter the Bank) reported that Mr. Marat Z. Zairov has retired from the position of the Chairman of the Management Board of BTA Bank JSC under his own initiative for health reasons.

Hereby the Bank kindly notes that information in some mass media that Mr. M.Z. Zairov has retired from the position of the Chairman of the Management Board of BTA Bank JSC due to "disagreements in approach to the restructuring of bank debts and asset recovery including foreign ones" does not reflect reality.

Responsibilities of the Chairman of the Management Board of BTA Bank are temporarily devolved on Mr. Askhat N. Beisenbayev, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board.

Also, powers of Mr. K. Shoefboeck, Member of the Board of Directors of BTA Bank JSC, Creditor Director are terminated with effect from January 11, 2012.
