Kazakhmys PLC announces that on 4 April 2012 it purchased from Citigroup Global Markets U.K. Equity Limited 109,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 920.8876 pence per share. The highest price paid was 926.5 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 912.5 pence per share. The purchased shares will be held as treasury shares. Following the above purchase, Kazakhmys PLC holds 8,174,503 ordinary shares in treasury and has 527,243,458 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
