Kazakhmys PLC announces that on 5 April 2012 it purchased from J.P. Morgan Securities Ltd. 167,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 895.9942 pence per share. The highest price paid was 914.5 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 874.0 pence per share. The purchased shares will be held as treasury shares. Following the above purchase, Kazakhmys PLC holds 8,509,503 ordinary shares in treasury and has 526,908,458 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
