Kazakhmys PLC announces that on 11 April 2012 it purchased from J.P. Morgan Securities Ltd. 171,500 ordinary shares at an average price of 872.3535 pence per share. The highest price paid was 880.5 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 852.5 pence per share. The purchased shares will be held as treasury shares. Following the above purchase, Kazakhmys PLC holds 8,851,503 ordinary shares in treasury and has 526,566,458 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
