Kazakhmys PLC announces that on 12 April 2012 it purchased from J.P. Morgan Securities Ltd. 168,500 ordinary shares at an average price of 887.898 pence per share. The highest price paid was 901.0 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 875.0 pence per share. The purchased shares will be held as treasury shares. Following the above purchase, Kazakhmys PLC holds 9,020,003 ordinary shares in treasury and has 526,397,958 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
