Kazakhmys PLC announces that on 16 April 2012 it purchased from Citigroup Global Markets U.K. Equity Limited 169,700 ordinary shares at an average price of 882.9397 pence per share. The highest price paid was 892.5 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 873.5 pence per share. The purchased shares will be held as treasury shares. Following the above purchase, Kazakhmys PLC holds 9,358,703 ordinary shares in treasury and has 526,059,258 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
