Kazakhmys PLC announces that on 18 April 2012 it purchased from Citigroup Global Markets U.K. Equity Limited 170,600 ordinary shares at an average price of 878.3013 pence per share. The highest price paid was 898.5 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 863.5 pence per share. The purchased shares will be held as treasury shares. Following the above purchase, Kazakhmys PLC holds 9,698,803 ordinary shares in treasury and has 525,719,158 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
